Unlocking new ways to enhance everyday life for consumers is the focus of my work at Clorox. That means asking: How can brands like Hidden Valley Ranch meet people where they are — hungry, busy, and looking for flavor and function?
Answering consumers’ call
Hidden Valley Ranch Dippers & Toppers, developed through a licensing partnership with Carl Buddig and Company, is our first bold step into the protein-forward snacking space. Dippers pair 100% natural grilled chicken strips with our Original Ranch for dipping in a single-serve tray with 15 grams of protein. Toppers are 100% natural shredded chicken that’s seasoned with ranch and buffalo ranch to elevate mealtime.
Why we did it
Protein where people want it: Nearly 3 in 4 Americans say they’re trying to consume protein1. By pairing Hidden Valley Ranch’s iconic flavor with a protein-forward offering, we’re helping consumers satisfy their goals without sacrificing the taste they love.
Convenience built in: With time emerging as today’s most valued resource1, consumers are actively seeking innovations that deliver meaningful convenience. Dippers & Toppers are ready to eat without complicated prep and are great for a snack on the go, fueling up after a workout, or enhancing family meals.

How we got here
Our licensing collaboration enables us to move into the refrigerated snacking space, leveraging Hidden Valley Ranch’s brand heritage and Carl Buddig’s expertise in grilled and shredded ready-to-eat chicken. Together, we can tap into new audiences, amplify reach, and bring something fresh into the market.
Partnerships like this also help us more quickly launch new ideas in new segments — whether that’s protein snacks, meal toppers, or on-the-go formats — and learn rapidly so we can keep meeting emerging consumer needs. As part of Clorox’s IGNITE strategy, this partnership is an example of how we’re innovating experiences across our brands, expanding into formats we think offer real value and delight for consumers.
When and where to expect
Hidden Valley Ranch Dippers and Toppers will begin appearing in retailers’ refrigerated sections in limited distribution this year, and Hidden Valley Ranch Dippers will launch nationally in April 2026.
