Stories from our people: Burt’s Bees’ Chris Hunt

Production supervisor Chris Hunt, who’s been with Clorox for more than 10 years, works out of our manufacturing facility in Morrisville, North Carolina. “We make everything Burt’s Bees — lip balms, lotions, tins, baby products, all of it,” he says.

Starting as an hourly employee who was responsible for the day to day, he’s worked his way up. “Clorox has stood behind me, giving me training and coaching. They’ve given me a lot of opportunity.”

There are always new challenges in the natural care business requiring a flexible approach. “Our raw materials can be unique, and you have to adjust how you run things and see things differently every day.”

That sort of adaptability has come in handy as Chris and his team have worked to upgrade manufacturing lines to boost production. To do this, he worked on the installation of one of the bigger lines we’ve ever brought in, which came from Germany. Because we couldn’t ship all of our raw materials there to test it, we had to test everything onsite.

“When we found issues, we had to innovate and come up with solutions,” says Chris. “We worked together as a team to get to the finish line the right way.”
