Launching innovation at The Home Depot to help DIYers

We recently launched an exclusive innovation with The Home Depot, designed with the No. 1 home improvement retailer’s1 shoppers and their outdoor and DIY cleanup needs in mind. Our Glad Heavy Duty ForceFlex Large Trash Bags feature a 2X reinforced and rip-resistant top* and hold 80+ pounds. 

The innovation reflects a deep understanding of our consumers. 85% of trash bag purchasers at the retailer identify as DIYers, according to The Home Depot Trash Bag Shopper Survey (May 2023). And more shoppers there buy outdoor trash bags than kitchen trash bags (Numerator Shopper Metrics, L52W, July 6, 2025). 

This product was born out of best-in-class collaboration between Clorox and The Home Depot, having partnered closely with their category leadership on product development. We also worked together on an omnichannel merchandising strategy, including placement that aligns with the retailer’s seasonal cleaning and fall cleanup periods.  

The launch is a powerful example of how we’re evolving the Glad brand to meet shopper needs and drive growth in a key retail channel.
