Instructions for Community Development Program

Following foundation grant guidelines, Clorox manufacturing plants and remote offices operate small giving programs in their local communities. These programs are administered independently and generally serve nonprofit organizations within a three-to-five mile radius of these facilities. To learn more about our Community Development Program, please email community.relations@clorox.com.

Instructions for Education Programs (Invitation Only)

The Clorox Company Foundation accepts concept papers for programs that serve children and youth from kindergarten through 12th grade, focused on literacy and STEM. A concept paper is the initial step in requesting an education grant from The Clorox Company Foundation.

Your concept paper should include the following information and should be emailed to cloroxfndt@eastbaycf.org:

  • Brief program overview, including how long your organization has been offering this program
  • Objectives
  • Grade level served
  • Outcomes to date
  • Community partners

Concept papers should not exceed two pages.

Within two weeks of your email submission, you will receive an email from the foundation staff with the status of your concept paper.

Instructions for Urban Farming Programs

The foundation supports organizations that offer urban farming/gardening programming that is focused on strengthening communities through nutrition education, access to good food and minimizing barriers associated with eating good, nutritious food. This focus area is by invitation only. For more information please email community.relations@clorox.com.

Note: Because of the large number of requests received and the need to have consistent information, applications that do not follow the instructions outlined may not be considered.

Proposal Review Process

East Bay Community Foundation staff receives all proposals and reviews them on behalf of The Clorox Company Foundation. The Clorox Company Foundation Board of Trustees ratifies all funding decisions. You will be notified that your application has been received and is in the review process. In some cases a proposal may be deferred to a later funding cycle for future consideration. Resources are limited and not all worthy projects can be funded. You will be notified by mail of the final decision.
