Fresh Step is showing up in a big way for National Pet Month in May, activating across community, retail, and e-commerce to celebrate pets and help more of them find loving homes – all while fueling growth for our business.

Why it matters

National Pet Month is when pet adoption and pet care are top of mind. Fresh Step is using this timely opportunity to boost visibility across retail and e-commerce, so we can do good and grow at the same time.

Adoption events headline National Pet Month push

At the community level, we are supporting a series of adoption events, hosted in partnership with Walmart and Best Friends Animal Society, spanning 16 cities over three weekends in May.

Fresh Step will be front and center across numerous platforms:

  • Walmart community adoption events nationwide with on-site signage
  • Walmart in-store store flyers and signs, web landing page, and press release
  • BestFriends.org dedicated landing page for National Pet Month
  • Best Friends national social media, reaching more than 3 million followers
  • Best Friends Magazine, reaching 280,000+ readers

The community adoption events will be held at select Walmart locations across the country. Dates and locations include:

May 2: Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Phoenix, Washington, D.C.

May 16: Austin, Ft. Lauderdale, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City

May 30: Milwaukee, Richmond (Va.), San Antonio, St. Louis, Teterboro (N.J.)

In parallel with live events is full-funnel retail and e-commerce activation, so when shoppers are ready to buy litter, Fresh Step is easy to find and choose. National Pet Month promotions with Walmart, Amazon, Target, and Chewy include:
