I’ve been with Clorox for two decades, but I still remember when I first came here. My boss called me to say, “Come down to Starbucks. Let’s talk about your first day.” He talked to me about Clorox values, and they are the same 20 years ago to now, exactly the same. So, my first day made a very strong impression.
Clorox is a values-driven company, very stick-to-their-principles. So, when some problem or opportunity comes, we need to make sure the team has the passion to use their head, heart and guts to fix it and improve it, and make sure our strategy is being implemented well.
At Clorox, you can be courageous in how you push to understand your consumer — it is one of the fundamentals of how we grow the business. If you don’t have this passion, or don’t have this curiosity, you will not be brave enough to understand what to improve so we can grow
You need to follow your consumer, understand your consumer, then you can find the right way to move forward.
