Chair and CEO Linda Rendle on Q1 FY27 performance and outlook

By Linda Rendle, Chair and Chief Executive Officer
Today we reported our first-quarter fiscal year 2027 results, delivering a strong start to the year despite a dynamic operating environment. We entered the fiscal year from a position of greater strength, and this quarter reflected the progress we’ve made to enhance the superiority of our products and brands, improve execution and drive long-term shareholder value.
Our teams delivered better-than-expected results while managing a range of challenges, with some favorable timing also benefiting the quarter. We’re encouraged by what we’re seeing across the portfolio, including improvement in our overall market share. Cleaning had another strong quarter, building on a successful Back-to-School season, with innovations like Scentiva and Clorox Pure contributing to growth. We’re also making good progress integrating Clorox Purell ProCare, as we work to bring together two trusted leaders in health and hygiene and unlock more opportunities to serve consumers and customers.
Looking ahead, we expect the environment to remain challenging, which is reflected in our outlook. Consumers continue to be highly value-conscious, competitive activity remains elevated and input cost pressures have increased. Against that backdrop, our priorities are clear: strengthen the superiority of our products and brands, improve execution and invest behind the opportunities that can have the greatest impact. We’ll continue using the capabilities we’ve built to manage costs while investing in our brands and innovation to deliver value for consumers. We see encouraging signs across much of the portfolio, and while there’s more work to do, we believe the business is moving in the right direction.
That progress gives me confidence as Clorox prepares for its next chapter. As we announced last week, our Board has appointed Fabian Garcia as Clorox’s next CEO, effective Jan. 5. I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Fabian through this process, and I’m impressed by the experience and perspective he will bring to Clorox. Until then, I remain focused on delivering our commitments and maintaining our momentum, while supporting a smooth transition and helping Fabian hit the ground running.
I want to thank our teammates around the world for their agility, discipline and focus on serving consumers and customers which have been critical to our strong start to the year. I’m grateful for all they’re doing to strengthen our brands and our competitive position, and to set Clorox up for sustainable, profitable growth over the long term.
