Legal & External Affairs team strengthens connections through giving back

For the Legal & External Affairs (LEA) team, volunteering has become a meaningful way to connect with teammates while giving back to the community. That tradition continued during a recent two-day gathering, when approximately 40 teammates from across the U.S. and the Buenos Aires hub created personalized cards for Letters of Love, a nonprofit that provides handcrafted cards to hospitalized children battling cancer and other serious illnesses.

“It’s hard to think about what these children and their families are going through. Being able to make a card for them felt uplifting. The activity was also very relaxing and reflective, and it was meaningful to know that a small gesture could brighten someone’s day,” one teammate shared.

Legacy of giving back

The activity builds on several years of community volunteering by the LEA team. Past efforts have included supporting Alameda County Community Food Bank and CityTeam, a nonprofit serving people experiencing homelessness and poverty. During a virtual workshop with the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area, teammates also helped individuals complete U.S. citizenship applications.

Although LEA team volunteering has taken different forms, they all share a common purpose: supporting neighbors in need. The Letters of Love activity carried that same spirit of service into the team’s gathering, creating another opportunity for colleagues to make a difference together.

Thanks to the LEA team for supporting Clorox’s Every Hour Counts initiative to reach 300,000 hours of volunteer service by 2029.
