Intern perspective: What we learned this summer

By Stella Yuen, University Program Manager – People&
Our 2025 Summer Internship Program wrapped up last week, marking the end of an experience offering professional and personal growth. Over the summer, interns dove into real business projects, built skills through cross-functional teamwork, received mentorship from teammates, and presented meaningful work to company leadership.
We asked them to reflect on their experience at Clorox. Here’s what some of our future leaders had to say:

What did you enjoy most about your internship at Clorox?
“I loved being part of a team that truly values learning and collaboration. Every day felt like an opportunity to explore new ideas, solve challenges, and contribute to something meaningful. Plus, the culture made it easy to ask questions, and I felt like the work mattered.”
— Tristan Parker, Identity and Access Management Analyst Intern – EDT
What project or task made you feel like you were making a real impact during your internship experience?
“I’m very grateful for the project I was given, as it really was a rich opportunity to develop a comprehensive strategic vision for Clorox disinfecting wipes , touching so many aspects of the innovation process along the way. I gained exposure to deep consumer insights, concept testing, financial projections, and data storytelling, and was able to collaborate with some amazing cross-functional partners. Ultimately, my project was very gratifying and carried with it real impact potential.”
— Haley Gustavsen, Brand Management Intern – Marketing

How did your internship help with your professional development?
“It pushed me to see the business through a different lens. Burt’s Bees is a unique and complex brand, and working on it showed me how marketing, sales planning, and insights all come together. I got to see a product launch come to life and really leaned into turning data into stories that help move the business forward — a skill I’ll carry with me beyond this role, and in all aspects of life!”
— Gaby Vite, Sales Intern – Sales
What did you expect when you accepted the internship compared with what you actually experienced?
“When I accepted the internship, I expected to gain a depth of technical knowledge and hands-on experience. What I didn’t anticipate was how holistic and impactful the experience would be. From day one, I was immersed in work that contributed to real outcomes, and the pace and depth of what we accomplished exceeded my expectations. The significance of the projects and the trust placed in interns to contribute made this a truly special opportunity and something far more extensive than what I had imagined.”
— Krisha Sampat, R&D Intern – R&D
