Minimizing Waste
Reduce, Recycle, Reuse Waste
At Clorox, we’re committed to minimizing the waste from our operations with a long-term goal to become zero waste-to-landfill. We currently have three facilities that have achieved zero waste-to-landfill, with two more currently striving for zero waste by 2013, consistent with our other environmental sustainability goals. To help move us toward a zero waste-to-landfill future, we’re working hard to install robust recycling programs at all of our facilities. As our waste reduction efforts expand, we expect other facilities to become Eco leaders, too.
Reducing Hazardous Waste
The Clorox Company is committed to minimizing hazardous waste in its facilities. We ensure that any waste that is generated is properly handled by approved vendors and that it is properly tracked throughout the process. We employ manufacturing practices that improve the efficiency of our processes and minimize the need for hazardous waste. We know that reducing hazardous waste reduces costs and is better for the environment.
