Workplace Safety
At Clorox, we foster a culture of safety in our offices and manufacturing facilities worldwide. We believe taking personal ownership for workplace safety benefits everybody. We provide employee training and education on hazard awareness, recognition and reporting, and encourage action to reduce risks and prevent personal injury or illness, both at work and at home. The foundation of this culture combines the use of traditional safety practices with behavior-based safety processes. We encourage employee involvement and participation in creating and maintaining a safe work place.
As a result of our commitment to the safety and well-being of our employees, our overall corporate incident rates continue to decline. The Corporation’s Recordable Incident Rate through December 2008 reported a 0.61 below our targeted goal of 1.0. The Corporation’s Lost Time Rate was also below our target, showing 0.20 vs. a 0.30 goal.
Our success as a corporation has been a result of the hard work and dedication of all employees at our locations and plants around the world. With their continued ownership and participation, our vision of a Zero-Incident Workplace can become a reality.
