Working Together for an Environmentally Sustainable World

At Clorox, we recognize that an important part of our commitment to our employees, shareholders, consumers and communities is protecting our environment. We also know we can't achieve this goal alone. That's why we work with a variety of organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Below are some examples of these partnerships.

  • Clorox proudly supports and is a member of the EPA DfE Safer Detergent's Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) Program, promoting the use of safer surfactants. Information on EPA DfE Programs can be found at http://www.epa.gov/dfe/index.htm.

  • Founding member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WasteWise program in 1995, which promotes the development of corporate recycling programs.

  • Active member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. The nonprofit coalition's mission is to develop sustainable packaging solutions for today's consumers.

A single Brita® pitcher and filter
(1 pound of plastic) can replace 300 standard 16.9 ounce containers of bottled water (15 pounds of plastic), thus saving energy and the use of petrochemicals to make plastic. And that doesn't include the fuel needed to transport bottled water from plant to store.
