| At Clorox, opportunities in risk management are broadly defined. Soraya says, “A lot of companies define ‘risk management’ as how much worker’s compensation, auto and other insurance they will buy. Here risk management is viewed in a broader sense. There are opportunities to be involved in activities and projects outside the typical insurance procurement arena." When interviewing new hires for her department, Soraya says, “We look for people who have strong technical skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a broad audience.” As for what’s kept her at the company for 22 years, she says, “Clorox’s business values are similar to my personal values.
