Q.

What is a “broadening assignment” and why would someone want to pursue such an assignment?

A.

Broadening assignments represent opportunities to work on assignments outside of the roles encompassed by the specific career paths. The company and Finance management value and encourage broadening assignments that enrich the skills a person needs to advance in his or her chosen career path.

Employees could be invited to take a broadening assignment because of a special business need.

Examples of broadening assignments include, but are not limited to, assignments in Enterprise Process Improvement Center, Mergers & Acquisitions, Order To Cash, other paths, or even other functions.

Q. If I really enjoy a particular area within Finance, can I specialize?
A. Yes. The organization benefits from having a balance between individuals with specialized depth in a given area and individuals with diverse experiences.
